Brenda McCartney
Hello! I would like to introduce myself, my name is Brenda McCartney. I would like to return as a director on the Ranch Horse Association of Michigan. I feel I can be an asset to the club in many aspects of its continued growth. I have been on the board on and off over the years in several aspects as a director, as President, Vice President and Secretary. I am currently the Vice President and would love the help continue to make RHAM the best it can be for all the members. Thank you. Brenda McCartney.
Kayla Borg
My name is Kayla Borg. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Having worked at a therapeutic riding center, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact horses can have on people of all ages. My husband and I joined RHAM in 2025 and quickly grew to love the organization and its community. I’m excited for the possibility to serve on the board, give back to an organization we value, and help support its continued growth and success!
Emily Schmidt
I began showing with RHAM in 2024 and have enjoyed growing as a competitor while building friendships and becoming part of such a welcoming horse-show community. Through my experiences in the show pen, I’ve developed an appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into making each show successful. I would love the opportunity to serve on the RHAM Board, bring fresh ideas, contribute a positive perspective, and help continue making RHAM a fun, supportive, and family-friendly association for exhibitors of all levels. I’m excited for the opportunity to give back to an organization that has given me so many great memories and experiences.
Kayla Dewey
My name is Kayla Dewey, and I have been involved with the Ranch Horse Association of Michigan for the past several years. During my time on the board, I have had the opportunity to serve on multiple committees and contribute to the continued growth and success of our association. I currently serve as RHAM Treasurer and would love the opportunity to continue serving RHAM and its members. I appreciate being part of this organization and look forward to helping support its future and the members who make it so special.
Melissa Shidler
My name is Melissa Shidler. My husband, Shane, and I live in Niles with our two daughters, Naylee and Ryla. Naylee, had her first full season showing in RHAM this year. Our experience this year with RHAM has brought countless memories, friendships, and enjoyment to our family. We are already looking forward to 2027!
We currently spend a lot of our time helping our girls chase their dreams. Naylee with horses and Ryla with volleyball. In my spare time I love tinkering around our horse farm and loving on our horses, dogs, and cats. Over the years I have really enjoyed helping organize events within our community such as Michiana Family Center, volleyball senior night, and our Booster Bash.
I look forward to bringing my organizational skills to help support the board and its mission.
